I started importing small quantities of New Zealand wine back in the late 1980’s when very few people knew that New Zealand was producing wine. There were 130 vineyards registered then, and now, some 25 years on, there are some 550! The U.K. still remains the prime market for our wines and I should think that every wine retailer and wholesaler stocks at least one range of New Zealand wines.

My name is Margaret Harvey and I started my small wine importing business in the late 1980’s with a firm belief that New Zealand had the capacity to produce delicious and fruit driven styles in quantities that would satisfy the British wine market. After undertaking the study and exams with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, I was awarded the Master of Wine in 1991.

Then in 1997, I was awarded an honour by Her Majesty the Queen, for services to the New Zealand Wine Industry (MNZM).
