TE MOTU Vineyards - Waiheke IslandThis winery, adjacent to Stonyridge, is owned and run by the Dunleavy family. Situated in the Onetangi Valley of Waiheke, a sun drenched valley providing clean, pure air, water, and stunning views. The Dunleavy’s grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. The vines deliver very low yields which make for a concentrated wine. The wine is blended and aged for up to twenty-four months in oak then given a further three years bottle age before being released. This adds up to a huge investment on the Dunleavys part but they believe that their philosophy is rewarded in the bottle.

Wines
The 2000 vintage is very dense with aromas of blackcurrant, black plum, rich fruitcake with flavours which follow on from this. The tannins are fine and the oak well integrated. A delicious wine drinking well now but with a good life ahead.
